Here's a sample of a scan from Silverfast. My negative b&w film was FUJI Neopan 400, scanned with NPC 400 setting.
You can clearly see the difference with the same film scanned in LinoColor two years ago... with generic negative film setting. Check the tonality... especially int he sky where SilverFast misses the glowing sky and dark clouds... also check the details in the rocks. It's grainier but it gives stronger image overall.
I'd hate it to go back to LinoColor after spending so much money on SilverFast with its more advanced technology, but there's just something missing here that I cannot figure out.
