With this kit you can run your Macintosh via FireWire on a Linotype-Hell / Heidelberg NexScan F4100.

Furthermore, you’ll get a demoversion of the well known scanning-software SilverFast by LaserSoft Imaging AG, Kiel.

The award winning scanning-software SilverFast is now available for Heidelberg high-end scanners & Mac OS X Tiger. SilverFast Ai STUDIO allows you to put the complete dynamic of your hardare into the TIFF-data. This makes the adverse reduction to 24 bit RGB superfluous. A PC with dual core processor is recommended.

The possibility to save raw data and process them with SilverFast HDR Studio opens a completely new workflow and maximum productivity. Chromagraph and Linotype-Hell Topaz 3240-I scanners do only support 36 to 24 Bit scanning.

Important Features:

NEW: Auto IT8-Calibration
The new SilverFast version helps professionals and enables consumers to just benefit from the highly added value of consistent colors and to neglect the sophisticated process behind it. With SilverFast V6.5.0r6 users from all experience levels can experience color consistent scans by calibrating the scanner first.

Due to the genuine combination of the automatic frame detection and the integrated barcode technology imprinted on SilverFast IT8-targets the complete calibration process runs fully automatic. Not even a Prescan is required. Just place the original LaserSoft Imaging IT8-target on the scanner and simply press the IT8-Calibration start icon.

A barcode imprinted on every LaserSoft Imaging IT8-target (patented) ensures that the required reference data is identified. The optimum color reproduction at the start of your imaging workflow will ensure maximum quality in your output.

The fully automatic IT8-Calibration is available in all SilverFast Studio versions. According to our upgrade policy all registered SilverFast users are entitled to a significantly reduced upgrade pricing to benefit from the fully automated
IT8-Calibration.

IT8-Targets
LaserSoft Imaging AG is also the manufacturers of the high-quality targets, both reflective and transmissive, in our own IT8 target production. With the production of small batches we ensure a very high precision.

NEW: AutoFrame Alignment with Auto-Rotation
The AutoFrame Alignment was developed and designed to offer the user an extremely efficient, yet convenient scanning experience. When positioning multiple images on the scanner, AutoFrame Alignment and the frame detection will not only "find" and frame the originals, it will align them in a rectangular order. Pictures will automatically be rotated for straight edge alignment. Manually cropping and aligning images in another editing application is no longer necessary.
SilverFast's intelligent detection and alignment algorithms perform these actions with a simple selection. Image frames can also be arbitrarily rotated for further fine tuning.

New: Color Cast Removal (CCR) in NegaFix
A new option in NegaFix offers a fast and simple solution to the existing issue of residual color casts in negative film profiles.

Distracting color casts or remnants of the orange mask can be removed quickly. SilverFast's new automatic CCR (Color Cast Removal) neutralizes these casts with a single click on the CCR button. This function is easy and efficient to use and provides immediate results.

New: Enhanced Descreening
From Version 6.4.2r4 onwards, SilverFast uses a completely new descreening in order to remove any screen dots from printed images. The newly developed descreening in SilverFast is able to detect the actual screen of the image automatically. 4 different descreening options are now available:

- Automatic descreening
- Automatic descreening (intensive)
- Descreening
- USM & Descreening

"Automatic descreening" and "Automatic descreening (intensive)" are fully automated and are available without any further dialogues.
