Calibrating the PV136T
The PV136T needs to be re-calibrated when a part is replaced or the Firmware has been upgraded.
To Calibrate the PV136T
• Remove all media from the Library
• Insert a single (brandnew) scratch Tape in Column 2 any slot you like.
• Check to see if the mailbox has been set to storage instead of Import/Export .
If so set it to import/export - to do this select
More -> Setup -> Utils -> Config and change the Mailbox to Import/Export
• Ensure that the door is safely locked
• Connect to the Library via the serial straight through cable (delivered with the Library) to the Notebook
• Open a HyperTerminal session (using the Settings below) and activate the CAPTURE in HYPERTERMINAL for later troubleshooting.
• Baud: 38,400
• Data bits: 8
• Parity: None
• Stop bits: 1
• Flow control: None
• Emulation: ANSI
At the monitor Prompt use the following command
Monitor> calibrate 300
It might be that there are some messages during you type. Don’t mind them and type the command.
The calibrate process may take up to one hour depending on the number of drives and columns. It is normal during the calibration routine for the picker to hit the sides of the columns.
If there are any error messages on display of PV136T then reprogram the FW of the Library to latest version and repeat the CALIBRATE 300
