Macs with Intel processors: a universal application to run using Rosetta force
Applications for Mac OS X that can be run both on a Mac with Intel processor or on a Mac with a PowerPC processor, called universal applications. Even if you do not have a Universal version of an application, you can run it with the help of Rosetta on a Mac with an Intel processor. Rosetta is available on any Mac with an Intel processor. Rosetta works in the background and uses an existing, native, non-universal application (which was developed for a Mac with a PowerPC processor, not a Classic application) so in order that it can be run on a Mac with Intel processor. You have to click only twice in the application!
From time to time you will have a Universal version of a graphic or web application on your Mac with Intel processor that you want to run using Rosetta and not with your own system. As some universal applications continue to rely on existing plug-ins, you must force a Universal application occasionally to run in Rosetta, the plug-in support. Check with the plug-in manufacturer to see if there are universal versions.
You can force a Universal application to open using Rosetta are:
First Click the Finder icon in the application.
Second Select the File menu, select Information (or press Command-I).
Third Check "Open using Rosetta" checkbox.
4th Close the window "Information".
If you double in the application, it will open using Rosetta, and all non-Universal plug-ins should work.
