Screen is very proud to introduce the newest addition to its high-quality scanner family, the SG-8060 High-end Color Drum Scanner. This precision device features a high-tech scanning head, advanced automation such as automatic focus and selection of apertures and light source, as well as a variety of output options, all controlled directly from the host Macintosh computer.
Screen`s patented artificial intelligence setups allow any user, whether experienced or novice, to get superior results every time. And for those color gurus, a manual setup is also available. The SG-8060P allows the user to save commonly used settings for easy recall in a preset library.
The SG-8060P offers a maximum input size of 23.6" x 21.2", with resolutions up to 12,00 dpi and magnifications up to 3,000%, so original size or final scan size should not be a problem.
This scanner has also been ergonomically designed to reduce the strain on the operator, with a user-friendly, mouse driven interface and easy-to-reach controls.
And, as far as speed is concemed, 13 DSP (Digital Signal Processor) circuits work to provide all the speed you can handle, combined with the quality you´ve come to expect in a Screen scanner.

Macintosh Control The SG-8060P is controlled right from a Power Macintosh computer, so your operators don`t have to waste their time running bach and forth to the scanner to adjust the head position or check highlight points.
Prescanning has been made simple eliminating the need to set up the position of each individual original before scanning.
Just set the unit for prescan and select the section of the drum you wish to scan. The 8060 prescans the entire area and displays it on screen. Simply use the mouse to define the area to be scanned and you`re ready to go.
Of course the same operartions can be done manually at the scanner if the operator so choose.
Artificial Intelligence
Screen`s patented, technologically advanced artifical Intelligence (AI) allows any user, wheter experienced or a novice, to achieve superior results with every scan. The SG-8060P comes bundled with an AI setup program with 10 different AI channels. These channels analyze the image to be scanned and automatically sets highlight and shadow points, and creates superior tonal balance. This is especially useful for high-key, low-key, or faded originals. Manual setup of color correction, gradation curves and sharpness settings is also available. Furthermore, commonly used settings can be saved to a preset library for easy recall.
Advanced Automation
The SG-8060P features advanced automation that makes high-quality scannings a snap. The aperture is digitally controlled, to give you the finest focus possible for every situation. Automatic aperture selection allows batch scanning to occur with different resolutions or magnification settings for each original.
Auto focus eliminates the tedious and time consuming step of manually focusing for each original. Also, automatic light source selection allows for scanning of transparency and refllective originals within the same batch without stopping the scanner.
The SG-8060P can be set to save output automatically to an image database. This simplifies image handling procedures and reduces the time an operator spends on activities other than actual scanning.
This adds up to saved time, increased productivity, and higher quality results , scan after scan.

The SG-8060P is equipped with a special scanning head which prowides unusually high image quality whether you are scanning transparencies or reflective materials. The Xenon lamp is brighter than standard halogen lamps, and captures subtle detail even in shadow areas.
The multi-directional illumination system ensures consistent and accurate color readings. An advanced pickup lens is incorporated, providing superior optical characteristics for improved image quality. The high tech light source even removes noise from the image signal, leaving only unsurpassed quality you`ve come to expect from Screen.

The SG-8060P can output at up to 12,000 dpi, and offers a wide range of magnifications from 10% up to 3,000% in 0.1% increments.
Output is available in several formats, including 24 or 48 bit RGB and 32 bit CYMK. Industry standard image formats such as TIFF, EPS, PICT and even Scitex CT are supported on output. The unit also features digital USM (Unsharp Masking). Digital Unsharp Masking preserves the integrity of the original, while also masking it cleaner and sharper.

The SG-8060P has been designed to reduce the strain on the operator, with a user-friendly, mouse-driven interface and easy-to-reach controls. Two set-up configurations are available. The standard set-up places the controlling Macintosh beside the scanner.
Alternatively, with the optional stage attached, the Mac can be placed to the rear of the unit at eye level. Either way, the scanner stylish design has a very small footprint and makes an attractiv addition to any work enviroment.
